XAU/USD quotes in dollars per troy ounce to two decimals, so 1 pip = $0.01. One standard lot is 100 ounces, which makes the pip value $1.00 per lot. Change the lot size, entry and exit below to see the exact numbers.
Pip value = contract size (ounces) × 0.01. For 1 standard lot that is 100 × 0.01 = $1.00 per pip. A 0.10 lot is 10 ounces, so each pip is worth $0.10; a 0.01 lot is 1 ounce, so each pip is $0.01.
Profit or loss = (exit − entry) × ounces for a long, and the reverse for a short. Because gold moves in dollars rather than in the fourth decimal like FX pairs, traders usually talk about "dollars per ounce" rather than pips — the calculator shows both so there is no ambiguity.
