Glossary

The words used on this site, in the sense we actually mean them.

TermMeaning
BidThe price at which the feed will sell to you. On an up order, your entry price is the ask, not this one.
AskThe price at which the feed will buy from you. On a down order, your entry price is the bid.
MidThe midpoint between bid and ask. This is the number used to decide whether your order won or lost.
SpreadThe gap between bid and ask. We do not widen it when the market gets busy.
StakeThe amount you put at risk on a single order.
PayoutThe percentage returned on top of your stake when an order wins. Published per term before you place the order.
TermHow long an order runs: sixty seconds up to one hour.
ExpirySame as the term, seen from the moment of placing rather than the moment of ending.
TieTwo prices identical to the last quoted digit. The stake is returned in full, with no profit and no loss.
SettlementThe moment a term ends. The price recorded at that second, not the next one, decides the result.
SnapshotOne stored quote at one instant, with its source and timestamp.
Audit recordThe stored raw quotes either side of your settlement, kept so a result can be rebuilt from primary data.
ReferenceThe identifier of a single order. Quote it and we can pull up the record.
Voided orderAn order cancelled because the feed failed or published an obviously wrong price. The stake is returned in full.
Cool-offA period you ask us to block your own access for. Existing orders still settle and your balance stays yours.
